Troubleshooting common issues

Having trouble with your whitening strips? Here are solutions to the most common issues.
Strips Won't Stick
Problem: Strips keep sliding or won't adhere properly.
Solutions:
- Make sure teeth are completely dry before applying—use a tissue to dry them
- Brush teeth without toothpaste 30 minutes before (toothpaste can leave a film)
- Don't use mouthwash before application
- Press firmly along the gum line and smooth out all bubbles
- Avoid talking or moving your mouth excessively right after applying
Uneven Whitening Results
Problem: Some teeth look whiter than others.
Solutions:
- Ensure the strip covers all visible teeth evenly
- Press out any air bubbles that prevent gel contact
- Make sure strips extend to cover canines (the pointed teeth)
- Some teeth may have deeper stains that require more treatments
- Teeth with dental work (crowns, veneers) won't whiten—this is normal
Gum Irritation
Problem: Gums feel sore or irritated after use.
Solutions:
- Apply strips slightly below the gum line, not touching gums
- Fold excess strip behind teeth, not over gums
- Rinse mouth thoroughly after removing strips
- Use a soft-bristled toothbrush
- Take a day off between treatments if irritation continues
White Spots After Treatment
Problem: Temporary white spots appear on teeth.
Solutions:
- This is normal and temporary—spots disappear within an hour
- It's caused by temporary dehydration of the tooth surface
- Keeping mouth closed during treatment can help
- Rinse with water after removing strips
- If spots persist beyond 24 hours, consult your dentist
Strips Taste Bad
Problem: Don't like the taste of the whitening gel.
Solutions:
- Our coconut oil formula has a mild taste most people find pleasant
- Avoid swallowing saliva during treatment—spit as needed
- Rinse thoroughly after removing strips
- The taste sensation decreases after a few treatments as you get used to it
